Assistant Compliance Officer Overview:

The Assistant Compliance Officer assists the Compliance Officer with monitoring and reporting on Suffolk’s compliance with the goals and requirements related to workforce compliance; the use of minority, veteran and woman owned businesses; prevailing wage; and other similar requirements. In addition, the Assistant Compliance Officer will assist with managing communications to community partners. The Assistant Compliance Officer also plays an active role in supporting outreach and establishing relationships with local, state and community agencies, groups and organizations and potential job applicants for trade worker positions on Suffolk’s projects.
Associates degree and at least 2-3 years of diversity and EEO experience in the construction industry is preferred.
General knowledge of applicable workforce and business compliance requirements and goals.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Able to work well with diverse individuals within and outside of Suffolk at all levels.
Able to work effectively as part of a team and maintain confidentiality of information.
Strong written and oral communication.
Detail oriented with strong project management, organizational and analytical skills.
Possesses a demonstrated commitment to diversity.
Strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office) required.
Self-motivated – able to work independently with minimum supervision, use independent judgment and display leadership techniques.
Law degree not required nor preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
