As the summer is winding down, keep cool by thinking of the upcoming fall activities. The weather will soon begin to cool and the leaves will fluctuate between the colors of red, yellow and orange. It's during the fall months that we, as New Englanders, appreciate the beauty of our region. During this beautiful season, the City will offer many fall programs that you should all take advantage of! Enjoy our annual Village Fest in September, support our schools during Homecoming and even cheer the Everett High School football team during their games! I hope you all have a great end of the summer, and look forward to seeing you all in our programs and festivals coming up.

Join us on Wednesday, August 16th at 11:45 a.m. at the Connolly Center for traditional Chinese dinner to celebrate "The August Moon"! You will also be enjoying dancing to Ray Cavicchio and his talented band!
Ticket sales are from August 2nd through 11th at the Connolly Center. Tickets cost $10.00 per person.

Summer Safety Tips for Seniors:
A presentation given by Roberta Robinson, Director of Marketing and Outreach at CHA, on Tuesday, August 15 at 11 a.m. at the Connolly Center.
Taking place on August 17th from 11 a.m. - noon, as well as on August 24th from 11 a.m. - noon.
Knit for Veterans:
This will be taking place on August 16th at 11:00 a.m. Come join us!
Have you always wanted to grow your own vegetables and herbs? Come to our meeting and learn more about our garden group every Wednesdays!

BINGO is Back!:
Super Bingo will take place on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m., at the Connolly Center! It's FREE to play and prizes will be given.
Lend Us Your Voices, Senior Glee Club:
Please join us at the Connolly Center for our very popular glee club, led by Everett's own Diana Ellis. Our glee club has grown over the past year, and we're always welcoming new members to join us for the fun! We meet every Tuesday at 1 p.m. Hope to see you there!
Mary's Affordable Hearing Aids:
Free hearing screenings, hearing aid cleaning and ear wax checks on the first Thursday of each month at the Connolly Center. If you have any questions about hearing loss, please stop in and see us! For an appointment or free hearing evaluations, please call 781.249.5330.

Aim for a Healthy New Year: Healthy Programs for 2017
NEW CLASS: Chair Yoga and Dance:
Join us for a new class Tuesdays at 9 a.m. with Miguel, beginning July 11. This class is specifically designed for seniors to improve their health, performance and mental awareness. We will focus on balance and range of motion, using chairs and dance techniques. The class is FREE of charge.
Healthy Eating Tasting with Tina:
As you know Mayor Carlo DeMaria has hired a new personal chef for the seniors at the Connolly Center! We would love for you to taste and check out our new exciting lunch menu, consisting of healthy food samples that will be offered on Tuesday, January 24 and Tuesday, January 31 at 11 a.m. right out the kitchen door. Please join us in welcoming Tina to the Connolly Center!
Zumba Tuesdays with Jill!:
Join us every Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Connolly Center for this high energy fun Zumba class! Dance to your favorite steps to various latin and other rhythmic music to become a healthier you! The class is free - don't miss out!
Heart Healthy Mondays at the Connolly Center:
Every Monday from 10 - 11 a.m, we will be providing a "Healthy Steps...Moving You to Better Health with the Lebed Method," which is a therapeutic movement program designed to help you thrive. Using props and eclectic music, instructor Julie Kaufmann will lead you through a routine of stretching and exercising that improves overall wellness, range of motion, balance, strength and endurance, as well as emotional well-being and self-image. Followed by lunch, there will also be another class available!
Join Julie for Western Line Dancing from 1 - 2 p.m. Whether you are a beginner or experienced line dancer, Julie will show you all the moves! You'll learn some brand new dances, as well as get to do some old favorites! Fun for EVERYONE!
1. "Strengthen Your Heart and Your Body" every Mondays at 11 a.m. with Miguel and every Wednesdays/Fridays at 10 a.m. with Calvin.
Set your own pace in these aerobics classes, which includes weights for strength training.
2. "Improve Balance and Stress" every Thursdays at 9 a.m. with Calvin.
A smooth, relaxing "yoga-style" class designed for people of all levels of activity.
3. "Reduce Anxiety" every Thursdays at 10 a.m. with Bill.
An ancient Chinese practice, Tai-Chi helps improve balance and strength, designed for people at all levels of activity.
