THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Inspections
Inspections are conducted in response to complaints
about the following items: asbestos, lead
paint, housing code violation, sanitation,
animalnuisances, rabies, medical and hazardous
waste, rodents and pesticides. In addition,
pre-opening and routine inspections are regularly
conducted in all food establishments. All
inspections are conducted within State Sanitary
code regulations and City of Everett Ordinances.

Nursing
The nursing supervisor and public
health nurse provide free immunizations for
measles, mumps, rubella,(MMR), tetanus/diphtheria
and polio to children age 7 and older. as
well as Hepatitis B immunization to 6th, 9th
and 12th graders in the schools. TB testing
is done at City Hall Monday through Wednesday.
The public health nurse provides
case management for cases of communicable
diseases; offers educational through workshops,
clinics, handouts and displays on many health
issues.
School nurses, under the Board
of Health, provides medical and first aid
treatment, offers screenings for immunization,
height and weight checks, postural screening
for schoolhouses, and head checks for lice
for per-school through high school. Vision
and hearing screening is conducted by the
school Department Nurse.
